This course shifts to the things that get built on those systems, and specifically to tokens: the assets, instruments, and objects of value that exist on blockchain networks. The crypto space has produced thousands of tokens, most of which have very little genuine purpose. But understanding tokens well means understanding both the ones that serve real functions and the ones that do not, and developing the ability to tell the difference.
This course covers the full picture: what tokens actually are, what they are designed to do, where they come from, how their economics work, and what warning signs suggest a token is designed more to benefit its creators than its buyers. The final two chapters in particular are frank about the realities of token valuation and project design. That frankness is not cynicism. It is the kind of clear-eyed perspective that makes it possible to engage with the crypto space thoughtfully rather than being swept along by enthusiasm or marketing.
